In its simplest definition a statute of limitations, as it pertains to a lawsuit, is sort of like sue by this date or forever hold your peace.

The latest video recorded by Ohio personal injury attorney, David Chester, is entitled “What is a Statute of Limitations”. This now completes a seven part video series Attorney Chester has done on the elements of an Ohio personal injury lawsuit. This video has been published on the Chester Law Group’s video website and has been uploaded to their YouTube channel, “ohiowrongfuldeath”.
All seven of these videos have been compiled as a YouTube channel playlist entitled “Elements of an Ohio Personal Injury Lawsuit”. This playlist provides a very comprehensive coverage of what constitutes a personal injury lawsuit.
In the video “What is a Statute of Limitations” David Chester points out that a statute of limitations in Ohio is the time limit placed on filing lawsuits. The time limit may be created by an Ohio statute or by a contract between two parties such as between a car owner and their auto insurance company.
Attorney Chester also explains in the video that different classes of people or different situations can have different statute of limitations for the same sort of claim. David gives specific examples to clarify this.
The video also illustrates where a statute of limitations can vary based on the type of claim which is filed in court.
In a recent interview Attorney Chester was quoted as saying “In its simplest definition a statute of limitations, as it pertains to a lawsuit, is sort of like sue by this date or forever hold your peace.”
David Chester has stated that his next education video project to help Ohioans better understand Ohio personal injury law will be based on Ohio truck accident claims. David indicates that trucking accidents are very different than other types of motor vehicle accidents and that trucking accident claims need to be handled differently.
