Joint solutions allows organizations to leverage deep data intelligence and distributed data stewardship to manage access to critical data

BigID, the leader in data discovery and intelligence for privacy, protection and perspective, today announced a partnership with Okera, which provides secure data access at scale, to align identifying data, defining and enforcing data access policies, and data anonymization for joint customers.

Together, BigID and Okera empower customers to secure sensitive data in data lakes to drive visibility and security across their data ecosystem. With this partnership, joint customers can automate discovery and policy enforcement, dramatically reducing manual resources while improving response times.

This partnership enables joint customers to:

  • Set and enforce policies in Okera leveraging BigID discovery and classification
  • Enable data masking and anonymization based on compliance and access control policies
  • Secure fine grained access control to sensitive data with deep data context
  • Provide audit reports on access, utilization and user activity related to all sensitive data

Customers can define policies in Okera, leveraging automated discovery and classification from BigID. By leveraging Okera's policy management and data masking, joint customers can ensure end-to-end data protection across sensitive, personal, regulated, and critical data.

“Okera and BigID are naturally aligned in many complementary ways, ranging from joint technology partners such as Amazon Web Services, to consulting partners such as Lucid Technologies & Solutions, who create broad customer solutions through the integration of our joint platforms,” said John F. Marchese, VP Global Alliances & Partner Sales Channels. “We are excited to combine Okera’s secure data access at scale with BigID’s enterprise data discovery for a best-of-breed solution, as well enable contextual user access reporting delivered via the BigID App Marketplace.”

“The partnership between BigID and Okera is helping answer two critical questions facing data teams today: Where is our sensitive data, how can I automatically apply policies to protect that data?” said William Murphy, VP Business Development at BigID. “The ability to confidently answer those questions is not only fundamental to data governance but is also a positive step towards creating data and customer trust.”
