CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Okuma America Corporation, a world leader in CNC machine tool manufacturing, is opening its doors to local high school students for a Manufacturing Day event highlighting "The Digital Age of Manufacturing," Friday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Okuma America headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event is being held in conjunction with the annual Manufacturing Day celebration sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturing and the Manufacturing Institute to educate and inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
Students will learn about CNC machining and the latest technologies used in the metal cutting industry in addition to various career paths and opportunities. They'll also tour Okuma's corporate headquarters for the Western Hemisphere and see robotic and live machine tool demonstrations, service and shipping operations, 3D printing, as well as engage with an interactive robot and learn how software engineering plays a vital role in the manufacturing process.
