The committee is comprised of service professionals from AMT member companies who focus on service technology and field implementation.

Current committee initiatives include:

- Workforce development - collaborating with National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) to provide a national, industry-recognized standard credential list for machine maintenance, service and repair technicians.
- Technician compensation - currently conducting a survey to gain insight on compensation scales, benefits, training, apprenticeship programs, and other data regarding the service workforce.
