Physicians volunteer May 6 at Peachtree Road Farmers Market
ATLANTA, May 2, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics – Georgia's top-rated dermatology practice – will be participating in free skin cancer screenings in honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Screenings take place 8 a.m.-Noon May 6 at Peachtree Road Farmers Market (The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road N.W., Atlanta).
"This year marks the 16th year that we have had the privilege of coordinating this free skin screening event," says Dr. Jodi Ganz of Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics. "We are so fortunate to have an amazing team of physicians and partners who are eager to educate their community on skin cancer and its prevention. These exams take place outdoors in open air, allowing physicians to screen any easily visible parts of a patient. Doctors will check the hot spots where skin cancer is likely to form, which is typically around the neck, arms, hands, and face. Each patient will get a write-up of their examination. If anything serious is detected, doctors will make additional personalized recommendations and referrals. This event provides a convenient opportunity for vendors and patrons to receive skin exams by a board-certified dermatologist for free and without proof of insurance.
Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics has been in collaboration with Peachtree Road Farmers Market for several years for their annual skin cancer examination. In addition to Dr. Ganz, Drs. Kelli Ingram Baender, Humza Ilyas, and David Olanksy and physicians assistants Sharen Doering and Wayne Emineth of Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics will be participating in this year's screenings.
Olansky Dermatology & Aesthetics organized the event in partnership with the Atlanta Association for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. It's sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology as part of their Spot Me initiative to provide people an opportunity to receive free skin cancer screenings, and increase education and awareness around skin cancer prevention.
