Allegheny Health Network (AHN) today released the top 20 most popular baby names chosen by parents delivering their newborns across the network's labor and delivery programs (L&D) in 2022.
PITTSBURGH, May 3, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Allegheny Health Network (AHN) today released the top 20 most popular baby names chosen by parents delivering their newborns across the network's labor and delivery programs (L&D) in 2022. Topping the charts this past year were Olivia and Theodore.

Following Olivia, girls' top names were Charlotte and Emma while the boys No. 2 and 3 spots were Owen and James, respectively. Select names on the list, such as Logan, Mason and Carter, were shared among both boys and girls.
Top baby names across AHN closely mirror the most popular names nationally. The top three names for boys across the country in 2021 were Liam, Noah and Oliver, with Theodore rounding the list out at number 10, and the top three names for baby girls were Olivia, Emma and Charlotte.

The AHN Women's Institute provides L&D services at the network's West Penn, Forbes, Wexford, Jefferson, and Saint Vincent hospitals.
AHN Forbes, Wexford and Jefferson offer level II neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) for non-critically ill infants, while AHN Saint Vincent and West Penn hospitals can care for the most critically ill babies with advanced level III NICUs.
All AHN L&D teams work closely with pediatricians from the AHN Pediatric Institute to help ensure babies are best positioned to thrive from infancy and beyond. At the AHN postpartum suites, pediatricians consistently round on families to perform routine wellness visits which may include hearing and sight screenings, blood sugar monitoring, lactation consultations, vaccination consultations, and safe sleep checks.
Last year, AHN's L&D programs in total welcomed more than 8,500 babies into the world – the highest number ever – and AHN West Penn was named one of the nation's top 50 best hospitals for OB/GYN care by U.S. News & World Report. In Erie, AHN Saint Vincent was also recognized by US News as its region's best hospital for maternity care.
