Developed by Aimco, the new hotel is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus
AURORA, Colo., May 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Olympia Hotel Management has been chosen to operate The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club, a new boutique hotel developed by the Denver-based Aimco, located at the heart of the world-class University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado.
The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club will be the center of hospitality at the nationally recognized Anschutz Medical Campus, situated between downtown Denver and Denver International Airport. It is designed to accommodate the needs of the Hospitals and University by offering high-quality meeting facilities, full-service lodging, and space for meetings and social functions. The Benson Hotel is named for Bruce Davey Benson, former president of the University of Colorado (CU) system from March 2008 to July 1, 2019, and will include 106 guestrooms that will feature four different guestroom design schemes so that repeat guests will not have the same experience every time. The designs reflect the location and the academic essence of the project, incorporating separate academic, garden, plains, and mountain themes. They will include a mix of suites and an entire floor of apartments with kitchens that will function as extended-stay units. The hotel is expected to open as a Preferred Hotel & Resorts property, with AAA Four Diamond status.
The restaurant will be called The Common Good, with 100 seats. It will be a community gathering space and an everyday-of-the-week restaurant, with locally-sourced ingredients and seasonal menus in a lively space. Meeting space includes a 3,800 square foot ballroom space on second floor for social events. The hotel will overlook a rose garden, which will host outdoor catered events.
Within the hotel will be The Faculty Club, designed as a gathering place and serving as the heart of a vibrant community with dedicated spaces for collaboration, innovation, connection, and leisure. The Faculty Club will provide a venue for promoting campus achievements, showcasing and honoring award-winning faculty, and carrying forward a longstanding tradition of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Aimco designed The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club with Denver-based Tryba Architects and hotel construction is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
