The WHO estimates that 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults worldwide are at risk of hearing loss – and that number is increasing. 1. Be honest with yourself. Do you find yourself missing lines in movies? Asking friends or colleagues to repeat themselves more often? Withdrawing in group conversations because they're hard to follow? Even mild hearing loss can take its toll, both socially and professionally.
2. It won't get better by itself. Currently, there is no medical or surgical treatment for hearing loss caused by noise, but the condition is treatable!

4. Take action. Does the idea of wearing a hearing aid make you cringe? Well, your concept of a hearing aid may be very outdated. A new generation of hearing aids are super slim, stylish, virtually invisible, and can connect to your phone, music and TV.
5. Practice Safe Listening. If you do have hearing loss, you should take steps to keep it from getting worse. Avoid noisy places whenever possible. Use earplugs, protective ear muffs, or noise-canceling headphones when around loud noises. Keep the volume down when listening through earbuds or headphones.
