One simple action could be a "Gift to the World" as Slushbox® releases a peaceful New Holiday Song, with a message of ease to calm the holiday frenzy
Known for inspiring keynote concerts, Slushbox® band founders Sharon Giarratano and Mark Wheeler, felt compelled to channel their gifts into a holiday song. "(Plant a Tree and) Give a Gift to the World" has a nurturing message for folks in the busy season; and offers a simple act to restore the environment as well.
LONG BEACH, Calif., Dec. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Announcing the release of a timely new holiday song, "(Plant a Tree and) Give a Gift to the World".
The song created by award-winning Slushbox® offers a peaceful message of ease and simplicity for the holiday frenzy. The track suggests one gift that could foster environmental and personal healing. Writers/producers/artists Sharon Giarratano and Mark Wheeler, known for being an inspiration and celebration through their band Slushbox®, felt compelled to channel their gifts into a holiday song for nurturing human nature, that also suggests some restoration to, and recreation in, nature.
WHAT
A timely independent release of a new original holiday song entitled "(Plant a Tree and) Give a Gift to the World", by Sharon Giarratano and Mark Wheeler, aka Slushbox®. Song link.
The timing of this release during the holidays is key to the message being shared, and honors the creative process that the production-couple demonstrates. In October, with only a song kernel of an idea: "(Plant a Tree and) Give a Gift to the World", the couple had to act fast for their desire to release the idea asap as a remedy to the upcoming stress and hyper-consumerism of the season. The song was originally conceived to be a one-minute chorus or jingle. But once the recording began the couple found themselves immersed in the full-on song production process that resulted in innovations and breakthroughs.
The result is that the song is reminiscent of the 1985 charity single, "We Are The World" but more environmentally driven; and has a feeling of ease and groove like the classic Linda Ronstadt version of "Blue Bayou"; plus it is expansive and visionary, akin to "Imagine" by John Lennon.
"(Plant a Tree and) Give a Gift to the World" by Slushbox® is firmly rooted in the 21st century due to the timely idea to use typical mobile phones to collect and transmit a peoples choir; as the song was coming together on the heaviest travel day of the year (the day before Thanksgiving)! As Thanksgiving week progressed, the duo's intent was to instigate a new type of release process for the song, starting on Black Friday. Feeling much like the Blues Brothers, "on a mission from God!", these creative mentors had to act fast.
To elevate their simple message for the planet, the duo wanted to include a heart-warming peoples' choir. But with no time to gather mentoring clients in their studio, the team sent out a text message including an acapella vocal guide. The chosen folks were asked to participate by recording themselves into cell phones; and by sending back the audio clips to be assembled ASAP. Because of the timing, the peoples' choir was collected, recorded, and transmitted via mobile phones, a grassroots innovation of sorts!
The track also includes veteran musician Matt Cohn, of the band Berlin circa 80s fame, for keyboard/piano/bass and strings embellishments, plus of course holiday bells. Since the news outlets were on holiday, the couple embarked on a first for themselves, utilizing some Facebook Live(s) for behind the scenes mixing, production, and insights. A Facebook Event was created that lasted throughout the Thanksgiving weekend. Many folks were unplugged for family time, and those fans who did attempt to follow the process were confused as to the location to attend an ON-LINE evolutionary song-release-process. Thankfully spots on a friend's internet radio station, KPLAFM.com during the Thanksgiving and Black Friday holiday weekend did get to showcase the song, and a Facebook Live captured some of the festivities.
Now Giarratano and Wheeler are spreading the word, and are open to wonderful media assistance to do so, and to spread the easy and peaceful message with as many as possible.

MORE
The winter is by Nature a time to slow down, and go within, yet our society and consumerism culture have strong drives towards extending black Friday and much busyness, and the business of gift hunting.

The song is a suggestion to be open to a simple and powerful action that can bring about a mighty healing to our world.
