One Warm Coat Day encourages individuals, groups, and businesses to make a difference in their local communities by sharing warmth with people in need.
NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This Thursday, Oct, 6, national nonprofit One Warm Coat kicks off its 30th annual coat drive season with One Warm Coat Day. This year, the annual awareness day will include coat distributions in 10 cities across the country.
The need for shelter from the elements, like food and clean water, becomes increasingly more urgent as temperatures drop across the country. Currently 37 million Americans are currently living at or below the poverty level and struggling to afford basic necessities.
One Warm Coat hopes its national day of awareness will inspire people across the country to get involved by donating coats, holding coat drives, and making financial contributions.
"Since 1992, One Warm Coat has worked with volunteers, donors, and sponsors to share warmth with 7.3 million children and adults across the U.S., providing coats without cost or discrimination," said Beth Amodio, President and CEO of One Warm Coat. "The need for warmth is urgent and continually growing. We encourage everyone to visit our website at onewarmcoat.org and learn how they can make a difference in your local community."
This year, One Warm Coat has teamed up with Amazon to distribute a total of 3,000 coats in 10 cities on One Warm Coat Day. Those cities include Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Houston and Dallas.
