The Minnesota used vehicle marketplace says buyers don't need to visit a lot when the seller shows them everything up front
ELK RIVER, Minn., Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On October 9, Remarket Space stopped letting buyers onto its Elk River lot. No walk-ins, no pickups, no cash at the counter. Every vehicle is now bought online and delivered to the buyer. A month later, the company is taking the same model to St. Louis without significantly adding to its staff.
The shift was possible because Remarket Space has run as a technology company from the start. Its platform handles the whole purchase: buyers register, verify their ID, bid in a live auction or choose Buy Now, pay online, add insurance for title transfer, and schedule delivery, without talking to a salesperson. For the move to 100% online, the company redesigned its website and platform around that flow and around one idea: give buyers more information online than they would get standing next to the car.
Every listing carries a test-drive video and the vehicle's known issues. Before listing, qualified mechanics inspect each vehicle using a detailed checklist in Remarket Space's own inspection app. Eligible cars, SUVs, vans and pickups are backed by a 3-Day Major Mechanical Guarantee against undisclosed engine, transmission, frame and flood problems. The recently redesigned site adds price transparency on top of that: each vehicle page now shows average price data, and a public sold vehicles archive shows what comparable cars actually sold for.
"For years, we worked closely with new and returning buyers at our lot to learn what made them want to see a car in person," said Ben Scharf, CEO of Remarket Space. "Over time, we kept building features into our platform to remove each of those reasons. Now we're fully online, and our buyers couldn't be happier."
The numbers back that up. Remarket Space sells more than 200 vehicles a month from its Minnesota location with a sell-through rate above 90%. About 60% of those sales go to returning customers, and the other 40% to first-time buyers.
Because the process now runs entirely online, opening St. Louis is a matter of adding inventory, not a storefront. St. Louis-area vehicles will be listed beginning in November, and the market is supported by the existing Minnesota team. St. Louis is the company's first expansion beyond Minnesota, and what it learns there will shape its next markets across the United States.
Remarket Space has sold more than 15,000 vehicles to more than 33,000 registered bidders, with live online auctions Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. Central. Most vehicles sell with no reserve, and every vehicle also has a Buy Now price.
