SEATTLE, May 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Online Metals, the world's leading eCommerce Metal and Plastics supplier, today announced that it has launched its first wearable metal arts contest, which will be open for entry to any U.S. based metal fabricator, maker, designer or artist. Participants in the judged contest, titled "Metal Never Goes Outta Style," will receive visibility in the marketplace via the company's website as well as through promotional events and social media platforms. Winners of the judged contest will also receive awards in the form of fabrication materials of the winner's choice from the company's catalog of metals and plastics.
By opening this contest to any fabricator in the U.S., Online Metals aims to connect more independent makers with audiences and potential customers interested in supporting domestic small businesses, craftspersons and light manufacturing. As more businesses and makers seek to establish trusted online resources and reliable supply chains, Online Metals is in a unique position to help its customers and community by elevating and showcasing talent, while helping to grow the revenue of both new and established metal workers and artists in every corner of the United States.
Said Greg Raece, President of Online Metals, "At Online Metals, we believe that our customers and their skills are the secret sauce that makes our business special. The ability to take a piece of ordinary metal and turn it into something unique, beautiful or useful, is something we want to celebrate and support. While we've hosted contests for our own customers previously, at this time we decided that recognizing all fabricators across the country could have a real positive impact in the lives of these skilled artisans. And, we hope to provide not only visibility for their work and inspiration for the community, but also the opportunity for each entrant to make new business and social connections through our extensive online network."
In addition to the judges from Online Metals who will name 2 winners, the organization is pleased to announce the participation of Barbie the Welder - sculptor, welder, author and advocate for professional artists (@BarbieTheWelder) - who will assist with judging entries and who will name a special award for one winning entry.
