Shortsville, N.Y. (PRWEB) May 13, 2016 -- Ontario Insurance Company recently launched a new insurance program for craft brewers and distillers in New York State. Dubbed the “Craft Brewer’s Kit,” the new insurance offering aims to assist craft beverage producers in addressing the unprecedented needs and changing regulations of the growing industry.
“The craft beverage industry is booming,” said Keith Fry, president and CEO of Ontario Insurance Company. “Our new service is something near and dear to us, as we’re beer-loving people with a passion and understanding for the business. The experts say there are four primary ingredients in the making of great beer. We suggest there is a fifth - insurance.”
Ontario Insurance Company is the only New York State cooperative insurance company currently providing this program. The unique blend of coverage is customizable to fit each brewer’s needs. It typically includes protection against general liability losses, property losses, food contamination, as well as damage to foundations and underground pipes, and property in transit.
According to The New York State Brewers Association, the number of New York State breweries grew from 95 in 2012 to 240 in 2015. In 2015, New York was ranked the fifth-largest beer producing state in the U.S.
“New York State has been a huge proponent of the craft beer industry and its positive impact on job creation, agriculture and tourism. The Farm Brewing Law, which was put into effect in 2013, has played a large role in the skyrocketing growth of our state’s industry. We want to ensure the protection of these folks and pave the way for even more growth,” said Fry.
Ontario Insurance Company provides quality insurance products and services to qualifying members at a fair and reasonable cost. The company has representation in over 130 independent agency locations throughout New York State. For more information visit https://ontarioinsco.com.
