Previously non-networked ClipperCreek stations can now be upgraded with OpConnect's network upgrade kit enabling access control, load management, metering and data collection.

So, whether it be due to a desire to manage access, need for load management or to collect charging data for purposes such as alternative fuel credits, customers can now upgrade their existing ClipperCreek hardware.

OpConnect announced today the release of an upgrade network kit to enable communications, load management and driver authentication for installed ClipperCreek CS and HCS units. This kit will allow owners of ClipperCreek’s robust non-networked hardware to be retrofit with OpConnect’s best-in-class network connectivity.

“ClipperCreek recently announced the shipment of its 90,000th EVSE (congratulations to ClipperCreek!) and we thought it was important to enable owners of many of these installed stations the ability to upgrade the units with connectivity,” said Dexter Turner, OpConnect CEO. “The upgrade will allow these formerly non-networked stations to have driver authentication, data collection, load management and metering.”

OpConnect is committed to providing innovative charging solutions to increase the adoption of electric vehicles across North America. The OpConnect network kit will allow site hosts who previously did not want network connectivity to now connect. So, whether it be due to a desire to manage access, need for load management or to collect charging data for purposes such as alternative fuel credits, customers can now upgrade their existing ClipperCreek hardware.

The feature is available today for all ClipperCreek CS and HCS model stations, depending upon their year of manufacture, and will give their owners OCPP enabled 40, 50, 80 and 100 Amp rated units, designed for passenger and fleet vehicle applications.

OpConnect’s network technology is designed to accommodate multi-family, workplace, public and fleet applications. The network is fully OCPP compliant, allowing its customers to avoid vendor lock and having a choice of OCPP hardware, now including ClipperCreek, available on the market today.
