Immediately rolling out 2.5 Gigabit XGS and 4.0 Gigabit XGS over 10G XGS-PON network
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Optico Fiber announces the launch of Multi-Gigabit broadband Internet services over its new 10G XGS broadband network. XGS, also known as XGS-PON, is a next generation fiberoptic technology supporting symmetrical broadband speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second (10G). Multi-Gigabit service are immediately available throughout the San Juan Metropolitan area.
Optico Fiber is the first company to deploy XGS-PON technology in Puerto Rico. The upgrade was completed across the entire network without interruption of its current network, with no impact on existing Gigabit broadband services. Optico Fiber has announced two new service plans – 2.5 Gigabit and 4.0 Gigabit. Both plans offer Multi-Gigabit speeds with no throttling or data caps. The 2.5 Gigabit service will provide symmetrical speeds up to 2.5Gbps. The 4.0 Gigabit service will provide symmetrical speeds up to 4.0Gbps.
