OrangeBoy, Inc. Announces Recipients of 2020 Public Library Opie Award

OrangeBoy, Inc. announced the eight public library recipients of the 2020 Opie Award, given to public libraries who presented innovative ideas for improving the positive impact each library makes in its respective community.

OrangeBoy, Inc., a leading consultancy for public libraries and provider of Savannah®, the Community Engagement Platform built exclusively for libraries, announced today the eight public libraries selected as recipients of the 2020 Opie Award. Winners were selected from across the United States and Canada by an independent board of library leaders who evaluated proposals submitted by applicants outlining inspiring or innovative ideas designed to further support the communities served by each library.

“We are honored to continue our support of public libraries across the United States and Canada through the 2020 Opie Award,” said founder, Clark Swanson. “At OrangeBoy, we believe in the power of libraries to lift communities and are proud to partner with the many innovative leaders who are creatively meeting the needs of their communities during this challenging time.” Opie Award recipients each received a grant as a part of their award receipt to help fund the launch of the ideas outlined in submitted applications.

OrangeBoy announced in October a $10,000 pool for award grants would be available in 2020 but increased this amount after receiving a high number of innovative proposals. Grants awarded this cycle more than doubled the original pool, totaling $22,500.
