Arturo Gonzalez Recognized for Going Above & Beyond for Assisted Living Community's Residents
WOODBURY, N.Y., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Orchard Estate of Woodbury Maintenance Technician Arturo Gonzalez of Hicksville, N.Y., has been named a recipient of the Empire State Association of Assisted Living's (ESAAL) All-Stars Award in the Direct Care/Front Line Non-Manager category.
Gonzalez was one of only seven professionals statewide recognized in the category, which honors assisted living associates who demonstrate exceptional dedication to residents, families and their communities.
Known for approaching every task with a positive attitude and a willingness to help, Gonzalez was recognized for consistently going above and beyond, whether addressing an urgent repair or simply lending a hand wherever needed. His nomination highlighted a recent late-night plumbing emergency at the community, during which Gonzalez spent hours resolving the issue before returning early the next morning with a smile on his face and ready to help residents and associates once again.
"Arturo represents the very best of what it means to serve our residents," said Doug Cormack, executive director of Orchard Estate of Woodbury. "He takes tremendous pride in his work, but what makes him truly special is the way he approaches every situation with kindness, patience and a genuine desire to help. Whether he's responding to an urgent need or taking care of the small details that make our community feel like home, our residents and associates know they can always count on him."
As a member of the community's plant operations team, Gonzalez helps create a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents and associates by managing repairs, maintenance needs and the many day-to-day details that keep the community running smoothly.
