Original Classic Bigfoot Film 'The Legend of Boggy Creek' Restored in 4K by George Eastman Museum
Independent film pioneer, Charles B. Pierce's, beloved G-rated cult-classic, 'The Legend of Boggy Creek', has been fully restored, and remastered (4K), at The George Eastman Museum, and returns this summer.
TEXARKANA, Texas, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pamula Pierce Barcelou, daughter of independent film pioneer, Charles B. Pierce, has answered generations of fans, and gained sole copyright to her father's 1972 monster-hit 'The Legend of Boggy Creek', and has restored/remastered (4K) the beloved cult-classic, at the George Eastman Museum, Rochester, New York, & Audio Mechanics, Burbank, California, using many of the original elements.
The film will premiere, once again, at the historic Perot Theatre, Texarkana, TX., Friday, June 14, 2019. Public showings begin at midnight, June 15, and continue through Sunday, June 16. (Charles B. Pierce Day in Texarkana, AR & TX)
This will be The Legend of Boggy Creek's first official release since 1975, and finally restores the motion-picture to its proper, wide-angle, 35mm (Techniscope) format, to once again captivate audiences, and saving the quintessential Bigfoot film.
Jaime Mendoza-Nava's soundtrack will be released separately, as well as merchandise featuring the iconic image created by illustrator, Ralph McQuarrie, Production Designer for 'Star Wars'. (Chewbacca is said to be a sort of "step-brother" to the Bigfoot-creature in the film.)
