SAN JOSE, Calif., July 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Last year, Securly Inc., the Student Safety Company dedicated to K-12 solutions, released two free products, Filter and Auditor, that have now been installed on over 2 million 1:1 devices across the US (10% of the market share) at no cost to districts.
Filter is a cloud-based web filtering solution (free for all 1:1 Chromebooks) that also monitors for signs of cyberbullying and self-harm. Filter removes the need for data centers to purchase multiple appliances and load balancers to support filtering across the district.
Auditor, Securly's AI-based tool for violence and self-harm detection on Gmail, can be installed on any 1:1 device and currently scans over 3.6M Gmail messages across over 600 districts each day. When violence or self-harm is detected, Auditor will alert the student's school.
Filter and Auditor culminated in the creation of Securly 24, a 24/7 student safety program that utilizes analysts to notify schools in real-time when a student is in danger. In its beta program, 38 lives were saved as a result of these alerts.
"Every student is entitled to a basic level of safety online, not just the ones whose schools have room in their budget," said Vinay Mahadik, co-founder/CEO of Securly. "Releasing free solutions has always been a no-brainer and the numbers prove that."
