The Southern-California based company expands its presence in high-demand U.S. destinations while continuing to reinvest in established properties, including a renewed 5-year agreement and $17 million transformation of Paséa Hotel & Spa.
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG), a hospitality company specializing in the ownership, management, financing and development of independent, experience-driven hotels and resorts, continues to expand its portfolio through new development, long-term operating partnerships and strategic reinvestment in established properties across sought-after U.S. destinations.
The company's growth is underscored by new additions to the Meritage Collection, PHG's portfolio of independent, experience-driven hotels and resorts, including the upcoming debut of Denū Hotel & Spa in Downtown Phoenix, alongside the renewal of its agreement to operate Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach for an additional 5 years. The renewed agreement comes as Paséa celebrates its 10th anniversary and enters the final phase of a four-year, $17 million property-wide transformation, including an additional $12 million investment following approximately $5 million in enhancements completed in 2024.
"Over nearly four decades, PHG has grown from a Southern California hospitality company into an owner and operator of 11 hotels and resorts across four states, representing more than 2,400 rooms," said Garrett Busch, President of Pacific Hospitality Group. "What has remained consistent is our approach - we invest for the long term, look for opportunities to create something distinctive and stay closely connected to the destinations where we operate. Paséa is a strong example of that model, and Denū represents where we're taking it next."
Investing in Paséa's Next Chapter
As Paséa enters its second decade, PHG's continued investment will build on the resort's position in Huntington Beach and its appeal across leisure, group, wellness and culinary travel. The property's revitalization began in 2024 with the debut of elevated restaurant and bar Lōrea, the reimagining of rooftop Treehouse on PCH and the redesign of the oceanfront Ninth Island Pool.
The final phase, led by Southern California-based design firm Stylo Haus, will introduce a comprehensive refresh of the resort's 250 guestrooms and suites and guest-facing spaces. Set to debut in 2027, the new accommodations will embrace a refined Southern California beach house aesthetic, incorporating layered natural materials, warm wood tones, custom woven textures and a soothing palette of sandy neutrals and ocean blues. The renovation will also encompass the lobby, corridors, meeting and event spaces, Aarna Spa and fitness center, with completion of the overall transformation slated for early 2028.
"Long-term ownership gives us the ability to think beyond the next quarter or the next project and make decisions based on where we believe a property and its destination can go over time," added Busch. "That perspective has shaped our approach to Paséa from the beginning. We're investing not simply to refresh the resort, but to ensure it continues to evolve and remain relevant to the travelers and community it serves."
Expanding Into New Markets
PHG's growth strategy also includes the development and launch of distinctive hotels in markets with strong long-term demand. On September 21, 2026, the company will debut Denū Hotel & Spa, Downtown Phoenix's first upscale urban retreat.
The 236-room Denū Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix within walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center, Mortgage Matchup Center and Chase Field. Denū will introduce an approach to urban hospitality centered on ritual, renewal and social connection, with destination dining, a rooftop pool, a Hammam-inspired spa and thoughtfully designed spaces for guests and locals to gather. In 2026, PHG is also celebrating significant milestones across its portfolio. AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown marks its 10th anniversary this year, while The Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa celebrates 20 years as a cornerstone of the Napa Valley hospitality landscape. In Austin, Hotel Viata marked its 10th anniversary in 2025, entering its second decade following a refresh and reintroduction under its current name in 2022. Together, these milestones reflect PHG's approach to building lasting value across its portfolio, continuing to evolve established properties while maintaining the distinct character that connects each hotel to its destination.
