Pacific College of Health and Science Names President Jack Miller Board of Trustees Chair
During his time as President, Mr. Miller expanded the college from its original San Diego campus to three campuses, with additional locations in New York and Chicago.
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Jack Miller, who has served as President and CEO of Pacific College of Health and Science for over 32 years, has been named Pacific College's Board of Trustees Chair. Current COO and New York campus director Malcolm Youngren will step in this November as Interim CEO while the board conducts an executive search for Mr. Miller's successor.
During his time as President, Mr. Miller expanded the college from its original San Diego campus to three campuses, with additional locations in New York and Chicago. On January 1, 2020, Mr. Miller ushered in a new era when the institution officially changed its name to Pacific College of Health and Science from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, reflecting the expanding interests of its students, faculty, and alumni. Most recently, he led the institution's seamless pivot from a combination of on- and off-site learning to completely remote instruction during the pandemic, showcasing the college's agility and flexibility while providing a safe, top-tier educational experience for its students.

His new role as Board of Trustees Chair allows Mr. Miller more time to consider strategic growth and alliances, and to develop instructional design that provides students and faculty with state-of-the-art educational experiences. As President, he evolved Pacific College from a focus on Chinese medicine and massage to one that also provides degrees in holistic nursing, health & human performance, medical cannabis, and public health education and promotion, all while maintaining a central role for Chinese medicine in those newer programs. Mr. Miller can now devote additional energy to building other programs that spread the benefits of Chinese medicine into relevant health professions.
About Pacific College:
Pacific College of Health and Science was founded in 1986 in San Diego to offer licensure-qualifying programs in Chinese medicine and massage therapy. The college subsequently established branches in New York and Chicago. It holds regional accreditation with the WASC Senior College and University Commission, as well as Chinese medicine and nursing programmatic accreditation. Over the years, it has expanded its programs to include a Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nursing, a certificate in Medical Cannabis, a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education and Promotion.
