Packaging Industry Veteran Joins Western Computer
Oxnard, CA (PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- George has served the packaging industry for 23 years, including over a decade at Esko working in various roles ranging from sales manager to global business development manager (BDM). Since joining the packaging industry decades ago, George has always felt that the industry deserved better tools to manage estimates, orders, job costs and tracking, as well as shop floor planning. As the National Business Development Manager for Western Computer’s NavPackaging solution, he will be addressing those very issues.
George started his career in the packaging industry, as a sales manager in the 1980’s with Jefferson Smurfit Corp, by managing a team of six packaging professionals in a regional market. His roles included identifying growth markets, organizing sales meetings and providing consultative selling tools to further account development. George worked closely with corporate marketing to promote new products including a flame resistant coated board called PyroNova and a unique carbon impregnated chipboard that resisted friction for uses in anti-static packaging applications. He was successful in bundling these very high margin products into the standard corrugated product offerings. While at Smurfit, George worked with their IT group to develop a basic lead tracking system intended to better coordinate regional sales activities.
In the early 1990’s George was able to utilize his knowledge of packaging and his understanding of software when he worked for AEI Kongsberg System of Irvine, CA and Kongsberg, Norway. Through several mergers and acquisitions, this company became what is now known as Esko. In the 18 years that George was with Esko he held a variety of positions. The first was created specifically for George when he joined the newly formed Systems Integration Division, to develop systems to satisfy market demand for solutions formed around the concept of “connecting automation islands”. His last 12 years at Esko was as the Regional Account Manager for Esko, a global supplier of pre-production and collaboration cloud software that integrates graphic, structural and process management functions for packaging, label, sign and display applications.
George is married with three boys...actually men, two in Digital Marketing and his youngest is attending SCAD next fall. He is “hooked” on Golf, 12 handicap and has a passion for tennis. During his downtime he enjoys chilling out with his guitars. George will be based in St. Louis and can be reached at George.Stamulis(at)WesternComputer(dot)com.
