PaintScaping and Brix Team for Female-Empowering Music Video
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) November 01, 2018 -- PaintScaping, Inc., a world leader in projection mapping, has teamed up with New York based singer-songwriter Brix to create a female empowering music video for Brix’s cover of No Doubt’s “Just a Girl.” The haunting track is featured in the trailer for the upcoming feature, “Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” opening November 11, 2018. The film stars Morgan Freeman, Matthew Macfadyen and Mackenzie Foy.
Says Brix, “After The Nutcracker trailer opportunity I truly felt a responsibility and calling to create a music video both highlighting the struggles that women face and also empowering young girls.” Brix and director, Ben Tedesco, had a vision for the video that was both intimate and powerful. To achieve it, projection was key. Enter PaintScaping, one of the top projection mapping companies in the world.
PaintScaping is no stranger to high-profile music videos. They’ve created the elaborate projection mapping for “This Is What You Came For,” by Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna. At almost 2 billion views, it is one of the most viewed mappings in history. In fact, PaintScaping is quickly becoming the premiere company for music video projection mapping. Heavyweights Cardi B, Eminem, Kelahni, John Legend, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, VH1, MTV, and Katy Perry, have all benefited from PaintScaping’s knowledge.
Julia Bergeron, Vice President of PaintScaping, says: “Brix’s cover of “Just A Girl” is extraordinary - lovely, haunting and completely unforgettable.” Clearly Disney agreed as the song is featured prominently in the big-budget holiday release, “Disney’s The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” starring Morgan Freeman, Matthew Macfadyen and Mackenzie Foy.
For the music video, PaintScaping projected images of Brix, various female role models, as well as transformative positive messages on a diverse group of young girls. “Beautiful” becomes “Beautiful Inside,” “Less” becomes “Limitless.” In the end, a smashed projector obliterates the programmed images and frees the girls to become more than “Just A Girl.”
Of course projection comes with technical challenges, but everything was in the “realm” of possibility for the PaintScaping team. Says Brix, “This video would not have been possible without Paintscaping. Paintscaping not only provided extensive and invaluable projection knowledge to the project, they also brought an incredible warmth and energy to set. Together we were able to create something magical. I am forever grateful to such a talented group of individuals that care about producing meaningful projects and are willing to do what it takes to make them happen."
Brix’s “Just a Girl” video drops Thursday, November 1, 2018.
