Palmetto Construction Services Named to 2016 Inner City 100
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) October 06, 2016 -- Palmetto Construction Services, LLC is a member of the 2016 ICIC Inner City 100 List, one of only two companies selected from Ohio. Palmetto ranked seventh on the list, curated by ICIC nominating partners.
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City partnered with Fortune to present this list, the 18th annual edition. In turn, this designation places Palmetto Construction Services, LLC in outstanding company, as 900 fast-growing and innovative inner city businesses have graced the list throughout its existence.
When creating this list, ICIC identifies, supports and publicizes the 100 fastest-growing, inner city businesses. These businesses are led by bright entrepreneurs looking to establish strong, secure jobs in inner city environments, where they are needed most.
"To be considered for a national award as one of the 100 fastest-growing companies is in itself an honor, but to be awarded as the seventh fastest-growing inner city company in the nation is beyond words,” Principal Casey Cusack said. “It truly shows there can be shared value between a company and a community.” Cusack sits on the board of the Franklinton Board of Trade, and is an advocate for the community vision.
The honorees were recognized on Sept. 14, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts. To qualify, Palmetto and all other recipients were required to meet a variety of criteria. Businesses must be privately owned, for-profit companies in operation for at least five years. Over that time, annual revenue must grow from at least $100,000 in 2011 to at least $1 million in 2015. Lastly, headquarters must be located in an inner city district and employ a minimum of ten full-time positions.
Located in the Franklinton neighborhood since 2010, Palmetto Construction Services specializes in large-scale commercial builds in Columbus, Ohio, Clearwater, Florida, Houston and Irving, Texas. Palmetto designs and constructs projects ranging from splash parks to sports stadiums and warehouses to airports.
“Palmetto Construction is proud to be a part of Franklinton. The dense urban areas of any city can be a great source of talent,” Cusack said. Palmetto’s workforce consists of over xx% residents of the City’s urban core.
ICIC works to recognize and aid underserved populations. This is accomplished by providing winning companies with access to national visibility, executive education and networking opportunities. In addition to the award banquet in Boston, ICIC offered the winning businesses a conference regarding management education the following day.
