As SCG's flagship offering, the CFID is the world's smallest handheld battery-powered, forensic collection and imaging device. A highly specialized tool used for digital forensic imaging, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) exploitation and mobile device extractions, the CFID now features Paragon's File System Link (FSL, previously known as UFSD) technology.

SCG Canada is licensing Paragon's Mobile Storage SDK to add improved exFAT support for its existing CFID companion application, which can be installed on any Android tablet or smartphone to quickly view flight logs from UAV devices such as drones. This CFID Viewer app, along with the CFID, is also embedded with Paragon's File System Link technology, which allows customers to immediately access and store data to file systems such as exFAT, NTFS and FAT32.
The CFID provides military, intelligence and law enforcement agencies a simple, small and inconspicuous tool for rapid forensic imaging of portable media, SIM cards, iOS and Android devices, UAV flight logs, both active and deleted files, and much more. It reduces time on target for frontline personnel by quickly analyzing and copying all relevant stored files from any unknown captured device.
With Microsoft's proprietary NTFS (New Technology File System) increasingly being employed by forensic investigators for evidence storage, the need for NTFS-compatible file system drivers like Paragon's FSL – with the capability to deliver higher speeds compared to standard Linux implementations – is growing, according to Tom Fedro, President, Paragon Software Group Corp.
