Liverpool (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- The Ethisphere Institute, an international think tank, has announced its seventh annual list of the world’s most ethical companies (forbes.com). Cyril Williams, managing director of Pareto Global Associates says: “More and more companies see the strong link between being ethical and business growth.” Organisations with ethical values have found that these efforts can improve reputation, can influence their bottom line, positively affect people’s commitment to work and enhance customer loyalty (inc.com). “Customers increasingly select brands according to their ethical values. It has become crucial for business owners to look at consumer buying behaviour in order to keep up with competitors,” explains Cyril Williams at Pareto Global Associates. Research shows that when compared with nine ‘extremely important’ general corporate citizenship categories or activities, ‘ethics and values’ are ranked highest in the United States and Europe, the third highest in Japan (inc.com).

Alex Brigham, executive director of the Ethisphere Institute, says: “I am pleased to announce that the 2013 list is our most competitive to date.” Thousands of businesses were nominated to be considered as one of this year’s most ethical companies. The 2013 list includes 138 organisations (forbes.com). “Companies have recognised that ethical business behaviour builds trust with the consumer,” explains Cyril Williams at Pareto Global Associates. A good, trusting relationship is what makes people buy and recommend a product or service and at the same time they may return to purchase again. “Companies have become increasingly aware of the advantages being ethically conscious has to offer, especially in the global economy. Companies find that ethical business practices increase their competitiveness in their respective industries, helping to further substantiate the notion that a culture of ethics is crucial to sustainable excellence," summarises Alex Brigham. Many companies even implement their ethical values in their marketing messages in order to attract consumers (forbes.com), especially in new markets in order to gain trust and credibility.
