PartnerTech Recognized with Proclamation for Manufacturing Appreciation Week
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- Gary Bruce, President of PartnerTech North America, located in Atlanta, Georgia accepted the proclamation for Manufacturing Appreciation Week at the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners meeting. The proclamation states the week of April 14-18 as Manufacturing Appreciation Week.
Manufacturing Appreciation Week was developed by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and the Georgia Department of Economic Development. TCSG and the Georgia Department of Economic Development work to support development of a qualified workforce for the manufacturing industry in Georgia through programs like Quick Start.
Quick Start is an internationally acclaimed workforce development program that provides customized training to the manufacturing industry. PartnerTech enjoys close ties with Gwinnett Technical College, one of the schools that offer the Quick Start program and with Georgia Tech’s primary business outreach organization, the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute(EI2).

Additionally, on Thursday, April 17th, Gwinnett Tech, along with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, co-hosted the Governor’s Awards Luncheon where manufacturing companies from all over the state were honored and awarded in several categories. Among those nominated for Manufacturer of the Year 2014, were PartnerTech along with Hitatchi Automotive, Georgia-Pacific, Mitsubishi Power Systems, Pratt & Whitney and Gulfstream Aerospace.
According to Georgia.org, manufacturers in Georgia employed over 480,000 people in 2013 and were responsible for 92% of exports in 2011. PartnerTech has grown over 600% over the last five years and in 2012 moved to a new location with greater capacity to serve their clients.
