Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) Supply Chain Leadership Council held its first 2015 meeting in March with new leadership to outline key initiatives for the coming year. Strategic growth, marketing and industry expertise collaboration headline this year.
Gary Bruce, Co-Chair, has led PartnerTech Inc., the North American location and wholly owned subsidiary of PartnerTech AB of Sweden, since 2009. He brings more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution to the MAC Supply Chain Council. Additionally, Gary serves on the Board of Advisors for MAC and Next Generation Manufacturing, and serves as Chair-Elect for the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce-USA and Chairman for the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce-Georgia.
Bruce states, “The Metro Atlanta Chamber has significant influence in expanding economic opportunities for Atlanta and the surrounding area. I’m honored to share in the advancement of metro Atlanta as a national leader in supply chain and manufacturing talent and resources.”
MAC’s supply chain council aims to grow the supply chain and logistics industry in the metro region, with emphasis on key areas of supply chain management including workforce development, infrastructure to support industry and advanced manufacturing identifying barriers to growth and segments for growth.
The Supply Chain Council is instrumental in raising Atlanta’s reputation as a hub of talent and innovation in supply chain management and operations. Originally formed in 2003 as the Atlanta Logistics Council, the council began to successfully recruit new businesses, publish the first logistics directory and win awards. The current council will continue to position Atlanta as a dominant force in the supply chain industry nationally.
The next year will see continued efforts to support the council mission to grow jobs and investment in the metro Atlanta supply chain ecosystem through recruitment of new business and support of existing companies.
Metro Atlanta is the primary business and distribution center of the Southeast with an established infrastructure of highway, rail and air. Situated along four major interstate networks, along with close proximity to the Port of Savannah and home to the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta is a global logistics hub.
