Peachtree Packaging & Display Point of Purchase Display Honored as Finalist in Prestigious Design of the Times Awards
Black Box Coffin wine POP retail display designed by Peachtree Packaging & Display named "Best Merchandising Solution" Finalist for 2020.
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., Nov. 24, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Peachtree Packaging & Display was recently recognized in a leading industry design competition, the Path to Purchase Institute's 2020 Design of the Times awards. For more than 25 years, the Design of the Times has honored consumer product marketers, agencies and point or purchase (POP) design firms for their most unique and effective in-store marketing executions.
Peachtree Packaging's Black Box Coffin wine POP retail display, designed for Black Box Wines, was named a finalist in the category of "Best Merchandising Solution." Design of the Times judges reviewed and scored entries across nine awards categories representing the most important objectives that in-store marketing programs can achieve. The entries represent executions at multiple retail channels including consumer electronics, convenience, drug, mass merchants, specialty, supermarket/grocery and warehouse club.
"Retail displays are the most visible, physical, tangible way to reach into a consumer's world at the point of purchase and tell a company's brand story," said Pete Galbiati, director of marketing for Peachtree Packaging. "The story has to be compelling, experiential, and engaging or customers will walk right by. It's hard to ignore a nearly life-size coffin display without provoking an intriguing goose bump or two."
While the spooky realism of the Black Box Coffin is impressive, its practical construction is what sets it apart. The concept was first imagined in wood, an expensive and cumbersome material for retail displays. However, Peachtree's designers created a display made from corrugated cardboard that was strong enough to hold 24 3-liter boxes of wine. The coffin display is also designed as a single piece and is shipped fully assembled, which simplifies set up for retailers.
"Peachtree Packaging really shines in the area of engineering unique solutions that overcome design and cost challenges that our competitors are afraid to even touch," said Chad Wagner, president and CEO of Peachtree Packaging. "As caretakers of some of the world's most recognizable brands, we have made a name for ourselves by employing the absolute best technology, equipment and engineers in the industry. Having the best resources removes any limits on creativity and ingenuity."
