“At Peet Bros., we are committed to creating quality products that keep sustainability top of mind,” said David Bass, President of Peet Bros.

Today, palm oil-free skincare innovator Peet Bros. launched a new line of olive oil, shea butter and hemp oil + CBD soaps and lotions that are completely free of palm oil and palm oil derivatives, allowing consumers to make a truly sustainable bath and body choice. Peet Bros. is committed to using a high percentage of the highest quality shea butter, olive oil and hemp oil in their personal care line – making its products incredibly moisturizing for all skin types.

Palm oil is found in more than 50 percent of products on grocery store shelves – from packaged food items to soaps, lotions, makeup and other household products. Despite being a prevalent ingredient due to its inexpensive price and stabilizing qualities, the palm oil industry is one of the largest contributors to global deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss. With 80 percent of the world’s palm oil produced in Malaysia and Indonesia, this destructive industry has decimated that habitat of endangered species, such as orangutans and Sumatran tigers, and has become a huge driver of the climate crisis.

“At Peet Bros., we are committed to creating quality products that keep sustainability top of mind,” said David Bass, President of Peet Bros. “When we learned about palm oil’s devastating impact on the environment, native species and biodiversity, indiginous populations, and global climate change, we knew there was a need for personal care products made without palm oil that perform as well as the other products on the shelf. In fact, we found that when you take out the palm fillers, you can pack way more moisturizing power into each bar and bottle.”

Unlike most skincare products, Peet Bros. products offer more of the good stuff. While most bath and body products use only trace amounts of key ingredients, Peet Bros. soaps and lotions include more shea butter, olive oil and hemp oil than nearly any other ingredient. The company’s products are also free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and artificial fragrances – allowing consumers to be confident in what they’re putting on their bodies.

According to Nielsen Data, 64 percent of shoppers purchase sustainable products and 73 percent of consumers say they would definitely change their consumption habits to reduce environmental impact. Peet Bros. soaps and lotions allow consumers to live by these values. By purchasing palm-free products, shoppers are making the responsible choice to help save the planet one product at a time.

Peet Bros. Shea Butter and Olive Oil soaps are available nationwide online and priced at $6.00 and its Hemp Oil + CBD soaps are available for pre-order and priced at $12.00 per five ounce bar. Its Shea Butter lotions are also available for pre-order online and cost $12.00 per 13 ounce bottle and its Hemp Oil + CBD lotions cost $18.00 per 10 ounce bottle. The products are also available on shelves in select Wegmans stores with more retailers to come.
