Owned by Domain LLC, the Sochi Casino is located in the gambling zone of Krasnaya Polyana, in the mountains (elevation 1,000 m / 3,300 feet) above Sochi. The Casino complex forms the center of the town's Gorky Gorod Resort and includes 70 gambling tables, 569 slot machines, two restaurants, a cabaret, a bar, a business events center, and retail area with several shops.
Repurposing a Former Olympic Facility
The mountain resort – and the casino building in particular – is actually a redevelopment of the media center originally erected for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. The multi-story media center, with over 158,000 m2 of floor space, originally featured numerous conference halls, press conference rooms (50-465 seats), and working areas for 2,000 media personnel and 6,000 TV and radio broadcasters. The 4 billion rubles (US$ 60 million) redevelopment project transformed the Olympic media center into an attractive casino and entertainment center, built in a classic style with Old World charm.

Topical Application for Impermeable Concrete
For the extensive reconstruction that transformed the Olympic media center into the Sochi Casino, the Penetron System of crystalline products was applied throughout all new and refurbished below-grade structures. PENEBAR SW swellable waterstop strips were used to seal all tie-holes and construction joints; PENECRETE MORTAR filled in all visible cracks; and finally, PENETRON topical treatment was applied to the surfaces to ensure impermeable concrete structures.
3x Longer Service Life
Penetron crystalline products are formulated to react with key concrete components to produce an integral crystalline formation. This treatment gives concrete vastly improved chloride diffusion and sulfate resistance, reduced permeability and drying shrinkage, resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, and self-healing capabilities.
