HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After a two-year process to update the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society (PATS) logo, a redesigned website, and a revamped mission statement as part of a strategic plan to continue to serve the Pennsylvania athletic training membership, we have a winner! It started with a suggestion from President-elect Shelly Fetchen DiCesaro which led to conversations with the NATA, past state leadership, and key stakeholders. Ultimately, it was decided this decision would be best made by the PATS membership themselves.
A work group was formed in early 2019 to lead the charge in creating the new logo. The work group decided to put a call out to the membership for design ideas and received a total of 15 submissions which was then narrowed down to the top 3. From there, the top 3 were taken to the PATS membership for voting. Voting kicked off at the PATS Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium in Gettysburg this past June. Voting was open for three weeks with a total of 592 members casting votes. Members were able to vote at the meeting in Gettysburg or via a link that was posted to the organization's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Despite a tight race, a winning logo was chosen, which was designed by PATS member Sam Silverstine! Some slight modifications were made after collaborating with the NATA marketing department to make sure the new logo was consistent with NATA standards. The logo and website were launched together on November 15 to unveil a new brand for PATS. Members who follow PATS on Instagram were given a sneak peek of the new logo on November 8. On the post revealing the new logo, a social media contest was announced in which a random follower who liked the post would receive a prize with the new logo. The post received over 135 likes. PATS is excited to roll out a new look as they continue to support the mission to "empower athletics trainers to be leaders in transforming healthcare by advocating, educating, and providing resources to deliver quality patient-centered healthcare."
