Global small business platform engages major agency to help attract small business to the cloud in US and other key international markets

Peppercomm today announced it has been appointed agency of record in the United States for Xero (ASX:XRO), the global small business platform. Xero made the appointment following a competitive review of five key firms.

Xero, which was founded in New Zealand in 2006 and originally listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and now the Australian Securities Exchange, today serves more than two million subscribers globally. Xero was the first brand that established cloud-based accounting software worldwide - and disrupted the industry - by connecting small business owners and their financial advisers with the right financial information anytime, anywhere and on any device.

Today, the Xero platform extends well beyond financial record keeping, with a leading product suite and thriving ecosystem of 800+ apps, 70,000 users of the API and developer tools and 200+ connections to banks and financial service providers.

Peppercomm will help Xero to drive brand awareness in the US through a combination of thought leadership, earned media and influencer engagement. The firm will also develop a compelling corporate narrative for Xero’s SaaS-based solution, as well as support Xero at key events and conferences and Xero’s own Roadshows and signature Xerocon events.

“We are really excited to be partnering with a major player in the accounting solutions market for small business owners,” said Steve Cody, CEO of Peppercomm. “As a small business entrepreneur myself, I live with the challenges that Xero has been solving for millions of other small business owners. These challenges have never been more apparent than over the last few months as so many are grappling with the impacts of the global pandemic. It’s great to now be part of a team that can help businesses not only survive, but thrive in the new normal.”

Karen Davis, Executive GM of Global Communications at Xero said: “Our mission at Xero is to be the most insightful and trusted small business platform - to help make doing business seamless, simple and smart. We saw a perfect fit with Peppercomm. They have the experience we need, and have championed many multinational challenger brands into the United States and brought a passion to their approach that clearly sets them apart.”

“At Xero we want to empower small businesses and their financial advisers to have greater control of their finances through our suite of cloud-based products and partner apps. Using Xero, small businesses have the ability to view their financial data and insights in real time, to track their business performance and to plan for the future.” added Davis.
