Perceptive Automata, the leader in human behavior prediction AI for machines, today announced that it has been named a finalist in the transportation category as part of Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas awards.

Perceptive Automata is creating best-in-class artificial intelligence software that gives autonomous vehicles the ability to understand the intentions of people so they can safely and smoothly navigate human-dominated road environments. Perceptive Automata is being recognized for their first-of-its-kind collaboration with Volvo Trucks North America and Dependable Highway Express (DHE) to bring human intuition to the trucking industry, with the goals of improving safety, productivity, and overall experience for truck drivers and fleet operators around the world.

“We are honored to be recognized and listed amongst the brightest, most innovative, and creative companies globally, working to solve some of today’s greatest challenges," said Sam Anthony, co-founder and CTO, Perceptive Automata. “We are on a mission to solve one of the most pressing challenges for autonomous vehicle developers: understanding and predicting human behavior. This recognition further validates Perceptive Automata as a critical driver behind making wide-scale adoption of AVs a reality.”

Now in its fourth year, the World Changing Ideas Awards showcase 26 winners, more than 200 finalists, and more than 500 honorable mentions—with Health and Wellness, Corporate Social Responsibility, and AI and Data among the most popular categories. A panel of eminent judges selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 3,000 entries across transportation, education, food, politics, technology, and more. The 2020 awards feature entries from across the globe, from Vancouver to Singapore to Tel Aviv.

“There seems no better time to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, resources, and, in some cases, their scale to tackle society’s biggest problems,” says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “Our journalists, under the leadership of senior editor Morgan Clendaniel, have uncovered some of the smartest and most inspiring projects of the year.”
