Company named 3rd place winner for AI software innovation

Perceptive Automata, the leading provider of human behavior understanding AI for machines, has been named the 3rd place winner in the Technology & Innovation: Software category for this year’s XCELLENCE Awards by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI).

Perceptive Automata is creating best-in-class artificial intelligence software that gives automated vehicles the ability to understand the intentions of humans so they can drive safely and smoothly in our human-dominated road environments. Perceptive Automata is being recognized for its first-of-its-kind collaboration with Volvo Trucks North America and Dependable Highway Express (DHE), that demonstrated the use of Perceptive Automata’s software to enhance truck drivers’ situational awareness of pedestrians and therefore contributing to road safety.

“We are thrilled to be included amongst such highly respected and innovative companies,” said Sam Anthony, co-founder and CTO, Perceptive Automata. “We are honored that AUVSI has recognized our work on solving one of the most important challenges facing automated vehicles on the road: understanding human behavior. This recognition showcases the hard work and innovation of our team in providing autonomous vehicles the ability to interact smoothly and safely with humans on the road by understanding what other road users are thinking.”

“The rapid growth of the unmanned systems industry is reshaping our future by expanding business markets, providing consumers with innovative solutions and even saving lives,” said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. “The XCELLENCE awards recognize companies and individuals who are achieving remarkable results with unmanned systems technology to benefit our communities.”
