New methods & SOPs have been developed and validated to allow cannabis laboratories to quantitate Pesticides, Heavy Metals, Residual Solvents and Terpenes in cannabis and hemp. During this presentation, data and methodology will be presented to show the long-term stability of the ICP-MS, LC/MS/MS and GC/MS- Head Space methods, simplicity of sample preparation and techniques to overcome matrix effects, robustness towards any contamination from the dirty matrices, and detection limits well below the State requirements.

Data will show the importance of having a matrix matched method to the specific cannabis sample type to ensure that the cannabis reaching the patient is and appropriately labelled. Dr. Toby Astill, PhD, Sr. Business Manager for Cannabis & Hemp Markets, Perkin Elmer will also discuss the influences of the various cannabis sample types tested and the details specified on how to handle flower, concentrates, and edibles.
