Petplan Seeks Praiseworthy Pet Health Professionals for Fifth Annual Veterinary Awards
Newtown Square, PA (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- Petplan is calling on animal lovers to help sniff out and reward praiseworthy pet health heroes by nominating them for its 2016 Veterinary Awards. As an added incentive, the pet insurance pack leader has also announced that it will donate a dollar to pets in need for every nomination made.
Nominations are being accepted for the following categories:
• Practice of the Year
• Veterinarian of the Year
• Veterinary Technician of the Year
• Practice Manager of the Year
• Receptionist of the Year
• Pet Parent of the Year
Six Veterinary Awards means six chances to thank pet health heroes and help furry friends. Nominators can choose from Adopt-a-Pet.com, GreaterGood.org or Morris Animal Foundation to receive the donation — and are welcome to divvy up their donations however they’d like.
“We at Petplan have the privilege of seeing the life-changing work veterinary professionals do — both in a professional capacity and as pet parents ourselves,” says Petplan co-founder and co-CEO Natasha Ashton. “Nominating for the Vet Awards is a win-win: pet parents can secure a donation to a worthy pet-related cause by simply thanking the passionate pet health advocates who keep their pets healthy.”
Now in their fifth year, the Veterinary Awards seek to recognize outstanding veterinary professionals from across North America — those who not only treat patients effectively, but treat them like family. The distinction is important, given that 92% of pet owners consider Fluffy and Fido to be furry family members.*
Organizers will paw through thousands of nominations in search of semi-finalists in each category, each of whom will complete a rigorous application process. An independent judging panel of esteemed veterinary professionals will then select three finalists per category, who will be announced in October.
Winners will be fêted at Petplan’s Veterinary Awards Dinner, an exclusive black-tie gala hosted at Orlando’s Four Seasons Resort on January 16, in tandem with the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) Conference. Each will receive a fur-bulous prize package that includes cash, prizes and a donation on their behalf to a pet-related charity of their choice.
