ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia, June 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Phantom Screens, North America's leading provider of retractable screens, is pleased to announce Stephen Hemphill's participation in the upcoming NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Supply Chain Webinar Series on June 8, 2021 at 2:00pm Eastern. Hemphill, Phantom Screens' CSCO, will be one of the experts joining the panel to share suppliers' perspectives on the state of the residential construction supply chain.
NAHB's Leading Supplier Council gives members the opportunity to make an impact on policies and programs for the residential construction industry while offering them valuable resources for their businesses. The webinar series will aim to assist builders with the supply chain challenges they are facing by providing real-world examples from suppliers operating in residential construction.
"I am pleased to join the NAHB to discuss these important issues impacting many residential construction and design businesses this year," said Hemphill. "COVID-19 and the surge in home renovations and construction has posed new challenges for builders and it is critical to offer insights for businesses so they can better prepare themselves in the coming months."
Demand for residential construction continues to rise as home remodeling and improvement spending rose by 19% in 2020 and new home sales surged by 19.3%, creating a greater need for construction materials and supplies. This demand was met by challenges within the global construction supply chain with construction goods costing 12.9% more since March 2020.
"The rising cost of materials is impacting the entire home building industry, including supply chain disruptions," stated NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke. "As we diligently search for solutions to help bring down building costs, it's important to have all of the appropriate voices at the table, and we appreciate our dedicated supplier members for shedding light on their experiences and challenges so that we can help fix this issue."
The webinar will go further in-depth to discuss the current challenges in the supply chain, what the future may hold for the availability of building materials and how America's builders can best prepare their company to deal with what lies ahead. NAHB's CEO, Jerry Howard will moderate the discussion.
