Phase 3 of webRegistry Begins with Availability of New Functionality
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- The OATI webRegistry (Electric Industry Registry (EIR)) transition is currently undergoing implementation of Phase 3, which incorporates Path and Adjacency registry data functionality currently found in the WECC Registry into webRegistry.
A parallel operations phase has commenced and is tentatively scheduled until Fourth Quarter 2013. During this period, entities with Path and Adjacency data in the WECC Registry will need to review and re-register their data in webRegistry, as well as maintain this data in both the WECC Registry and webRegistry. New production functionality is now available within webRegistry to support re-registration.
Phase 3 will impact entities in the Western Interconnection, as well as those entities conducting business with the Western Interconnection. Application Service Providers who currently utilize the WECC Registry will also be impacted.
Phase 3 concludes with the official retirement of the WECC Registry.
Additional activities taking place during Phase 3 include the retirement of the CSV and MDB publication file formats and transition to the XML publication file format. Legacy TSIN items retained in webRegistry as part of the initial transition will also be retired.
The North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) owned EIR, which replaced the NERC Transmission Site Information Network (TSIN) registry in November 2012, serves as the central repository for information within the electric industry. OATI, as the NAESB chosen system administrator, manages the tool as webRegistry.
