Phoenix Companies Take on the Fit Company Challenge and Promote Employee Wellness
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) November 16, 2016 -- On November 5, 2016 participants from companies located in the Phoenix Arizona area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate wellness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute providing area companies an opportunity to come together as a team and spend a morning exercising, pushing their physical and mental limits and showing the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. Participants worked in teams of 3 to 4 towards completing a variety of fitness stations tailored to challenge the team member’s current fitness level and earn points towards their company’s overall score.
In the second year in a row, Climatec took first place in the large division and Climatec team captain Jill Boileau was excited the company took first place again! “Climatec employees love participating in the Fit Company Challenge,” Said Jill Boileau. “It’s a great event that promotes team building across our entire company and it’s a fun way to reinforce the healthy lifestyle culture we encourage at Climatec.”
In their second year participating in the Fit Company Challenge Unicon, Inc. showed they had been preparing for the challenge by moving up to second place in the large division, up from fourth in 2015. “Unicon promotes an active, healthy lifestyle for our employees. The Phoenix Fit Company Challenge gave us a great opportunity to exercise as a team in an exciting and relaxed atmosphere,” said Patience Breinholt, VP Human Resources, Unicon, Inc. “We will be continuing the exercise activities that prepared us for the challenge, to help our employees meet their fitness goals.”
In SUMCO’s second year participating in the challenge the team placed first in the medium division and third overall. Per SUMCO’s team captain Misty Gilmore, “One of the SUMCO team members said it best, ‘We had a blast, love the competitive spirit and looking forward to next year’s challenge.’ Taking part in the Fit Company Challenge is a great way to express SUMCO’s commitment to Health and Wellness.”
On event date, with the help of over 20 volunteers assisting the contenders, participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance in order to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and promote the importance of having fun and effective corporate wellness programs at their companies.
The challenge was held at Rose Mofford Sports Complex, located a short drive from downtown Phoenix.
