SYRACUSE, Ind., Sept. 1, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Megan Pierson, Senior Vice President of Business Development at POLYWOOD, has been recognized by Home Furnishings Business Magazine in its eighth annual Forty Under 40 awards for career achievements and community involvement. Joining other extraordinary young professionals in the home furnishings industry, Megan is featured in the trade publication's July/August issue.
"The Class of 2021 is a most impressive group," noted Publisher and Editor in Chief Bob George. "These men and women found new ways to conduct business and help their companies thrive during a time of global crisis. These future leaders found strategic and creative solutions to the unique challenges faced by the home furnishings industry."
Megan joined POLYWOOD in March 2013 as Administrative Director. President Doug Rassi valued her contribution to the successful build-out of critical teams (such as the Culture Team that she founded) and by 2014 she had already been elevated to Director of Sales and Marketing. Just one year later Megan became the first female to join the executive group as she was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 2017, she rose yet again, this time to Senior Vice President of Business Development, a move which included her relocation to the company's new manufacturing and distribution center in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Megan is serving her sixth year on the Board of Directors of the International Casual Furnishings Association, where she chairs the Marketing Committee. In nominating Megan for this award, ICFA Executive Director Jackie Hirschhaut observed that Megan has a unique ability to recognize star talent among peers.
"She is admired for her progressive strategy development and execution," Jackie said. "In the marketing of ICFA, she has motivated increased social media activity, expanded methods of communicating with the membership, and implemented successful tactics for attracting new members."
This busy mom of two teenage sons also manages to find time to volunteer at the Young Entrepreneurs Academy where she mentors high school students that have a passion for entrepreneurship. This type of extracurricular community leadership in addition to her work on the ICFA board and her executive duties at the rapidly-expanding POLYWOOD exemplify the spirit that Home Furnishings Business Magazine seeks to celebrate with its "Forty Under 40" honor.
