DES MOINES, Iowa, March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pillar Technology, a part of Accenture Industry X.O (NYSE: ACN) and an IT consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is pleased to announce that it has been named the 2018 Business of the Year by the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce. The awards, given annually, recognize businesses and individuals who have done outstanding work in the Des Moines community, and continue to work toward future advancements. Winners were recognized at the Annual Celebration of the Downtown Chamber on February 28 at the Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel.
"In our award selections, we are looking for businesses and individuals who are acting as catalysts, who have made remarkable achievements, and who are clearly committed to contributing toward the betterment of our community," said Jennifer Chittenden, Executive Director of the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce. Awards are given in five categories that include Business, Citizen, Non-Profit, Ambassador of the Year, and the Legacy Award. The Chamber membership nominates the businesses and individuals, with dozens of nominations made each year. The final winners are selected by various Chamber committees and staff, and past award winners.
