PIMCO carbon expert joins carbon investor, Klima Capital, as Co-CIO

NEW YORK and NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Feb. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Klima Capital Advisors LP ("Klima"), an environmental asset manager specializing in carbon markets, has added carbon market expert, Klaus Thuerbach, as a Founding Partner and Co-CIO. Klaus joins Klima from PIMCO where he served as the lead strategist for PIMCO's carbon and commodity offerings, including one of the world's largest commodity hedge funds.

Klima focuses on the intersection of finance and climate change, with the purpose of helping financial markets do more of the work in our collective fight against global warming. Dedicated to carbon markets, Klima invests in and advocates for carbon cap-and-trade and other greenhouse gas reduction programs.

He helped integrate carbon into the investment universe of some of the world's largest commodity funds, launched a dedicated California carbon fund, and increased awareness of this emerging asset class.
