Pine Grove Welcomes Russell Rainey to its Legacy Program
Hattiesburg, Mississippi (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, an extension of Forrest General Hospital, is proud to announce the addition of Russell Rainey, MS, LPC, to the organization’s Legacy program. Rainey is the Program Director of Legacy, which specializes in identifying and healing substance abuse issues in older adults beginning at age 60. Legacy was established by Pine Grove in 2012 in response to growing patient needs and an evolving body of research suggesting links between age specific addiction treatment programs and improved outcomes.
Rainey’s commitment to helping older adults successfully cope with their addiction challenges, along with a personal goal of advancing this under served and innovative field of addiction treatment are two reasons he is proud to be at the helm of Pine Grove’s Legacy program. According to Rainey, “With the growing number of older adults struggling with substance use disorders, the need for quality treatment is definitely great.”
A South Mississippi native, Rainey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Biblical Studies with a focus on Language at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He gained his Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from William Carey University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to joining the Legacy team, Rainey served as Clinical Director of Pine Grove’s Next Step program, which specializes in treating men with alcohol and chemical dependency addictions. “I am tremendously grateful to be doing work that matters as part of the Pine Grove family,” Rainey explained.
