I do not see a better way to pay-it-forward than to help deserving students become future leaders of this division and society.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 20, 2014
Bill Barton, Chair of the HD&L division, announced that, “HD&L is thrilled to be able to sponsor student memberships and a 1-year internship to three deserving students each year. This sponsorship by Pinnacle Process Solutions will allow us to increase our impact by joining forces with the next generation of quality leaders. The vision by Pinnacle CEO, Adil Dalal, is that creating this internship program will have far reaching benefits for both the students and for HD&L.” Wanda Sturm, Chair-Elect of HD&L added, “The students will gain insights into leadership development, while the division will gain fresh perspectives and inputs in the building of the HD&L of the future. This program is a great win for all and will be a great model for other divisions at ASQ to follow.”
The President and CEO of PPSI, Adil Dalal, served as the Chair of the HD&L division from 2011-2013, and was recently honored with a Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Leadership and Quality by the World Quality Congress. Dalal hopes that this scholarship will be another step in his continued effort to establish the values of leadership at an individual level which can someday be a catalyst for global change. He truly believes that every human is genetically engineered for success and supporting their development and growth can allow them to unleash their hidden potential.
Dalal says, “My definition of Leadership is simple, L.E.A.D. or Leave Everything Appreciated on Departure. This means that the primary role of any leader is to leave their committee, organization or country in which they serve, in a better condition than when they took office; another equally important role is to have the vision that their legacy will continue and each subsequent leader will pay-it-forward to the future generations. I do not see a better way to pay-it-forward than to help deserving students become future leaders of this division and society.”
The following are the terms of the free student membership and internship program:
The candidate must be a traditional student enrolled in an accredited degree program. They must submit an essay that proves their leadership and sustained passion for human development. The essay must be of no more than 2000 words and must have the approval of one professor or faculty member where the student attends college. The essay must be submitted no later than November 30, 2014 to (hdl.division(at)gmail(dot)com) and to info(at)pinnacleprocess(dot)com with a title “Application for HD&L Student 2014-15 Internship Program- Candidate’s Name.” From the essays received, PPSI and the HD&L Committee will review and choose three winners every year. The winners will receive special commendation, a 1-year ASQ subscription to student membership and will be allowed to be on the Board of HD&L Division as interns and student advisors. The winners will be notified and in addition, will be recognized at the World Congress for Quality and Improvement HD&L annual breakfast.
