Warehouses and distributors along New Jersey's freight routes lose time whenever a lift truck goes down, which makes a nearby forklift dealer with inventory and repair capacity especially useful. Eastern Lift Truck Co. is responding with a remodeled 40,000-square-foot Piscataway facility and a 20,000-square-foot addition now underway.
PISCATAWAY, N.J., Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Operators moving freight through Middlesex County's industrial corridor need dependable lift trucks and quick service within easy reach. That shapes how buyers search for a forklift dealer in New Jersey, where distance to the shop can matter as much as the equipment. In August 2026, Eastern Lift Truck Co. moved its Piscataway team into a remodeled building at 281 Centennial Ave., adding room for equipment, parts and repairs.
Why Does This Corridor Matter to Lift Truck Buyers?
Because so much freight moves along Interstate 287, the New Jersey Turnpike and Port Newark-Elizabeth, a stalled lift truck quickly becomes a bottleneck. The Centennial Avenue site sits within reach of all three major distribution links, which puts a larger dealer base close to the operators who feel that pressure first.
Inside Eastern Lift Truck Co.'s new 40,000-square-foot building, the team gains four upgrades over its former branch:
- Stock: A deeper inventory of parts and lift equipment fits on the expanded floor.
- Repairs: A larger shop leaves technicians more room for service work.
- Meetings: Conference rooms accommodate sessions with customers and vendors.
- Workspace: Added offices and parking to support the larger team and its visitors.
The team has grown to more than 100 professionals since the company became an authorized Hyster dealer in 2015. It now serves Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Union counties, along with Staten Island in New York.
What Does the Expansion Mean for Equipment Buyers Across the Region?
The expansion gives the region two branches, Piscataway and Montville, that together cover 12 counties across the state. Eastern Lift Truck Co. also renovated its Montville branch after moving it from Lincoln Park, and technicians now train there. That team serves Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties, plus Orange and Rockland counties in New York.
Construction has also begun on a 20,000-square-foot addition at the Centennial Avenue site. When the addition is finished, the company will open its second customer experience center, following one nearing completion in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It describes the centers as mini-warehouses where customers can see equipment, warehouse products and technology solutions.
As a New Jersey forklift dealer, the company is allocating more floor space near the freight lanes its customers use. In an announcement, Eastern Lift Truck Co. says it is bringing "more than fifty years of trusted service and support" to the northern part of the state and the southern tier of New York.
