Pittsburgh Companies Conquer the Fit Company Challenge and Promote Employee Wellness

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) October 20, 2016 -- On October 6, 2016 participants from companies located in the Pittsburgh area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate wellness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute providing area companies an opportunity to show the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. Participants worked in teams of 3 to 4 towards completing a variety of fitness stations tailored to challenge the team member’s current fitness level and earn points towards their company’s overall score.

In the inaugural event in Pittsburgh, Confluence Financial Partners took the top overall spot. “Confluence Financial Partners is committed to not only financial well-being for our clients but also physical well-being for all of our associates. Participating in the Fit Company Challenge gave our team a goal to work toward and ultimately accomplish by giving our best effort and working together. It was a great event and I am very happy we participated in it,” said Greg Weimer, Partner, Confluence Financial Partners.

SRS Computing joined the challenge less than 1 week out from the event and fielded a team that took the 2nd overall spot. From their team captain Jacquelyn Tully, “It was a great experience that brought our team together in a fun way. It really made us reevaluate our current fitness regimes and health habits. We would definitely participate again!”

On event date, with the help of coaches from SHAPE Training (http://www.shapetrain.com) assisting the contenders, participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance in order to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and promote the importance of having fun and effective corporate wellness programs at their companies.

The challenge was held at Schenley Oval Sportsplex, located just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
