PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax, and advisory firms, announced today it has hired Geoffrey K. Benedict. Benedict will serve as a partner specializing in financial reporting, audit and review engagements, assurance and tax services. Benedict will advise clients with consulting for private clubs, not-for-profits, closely held businesses, and individuals.

Benedict has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and consulting private clubs. His significant experience with clubs of all types and sizes ranges from country clubs and golf clubs to private and for-profit clubs. Before joining the Firm, Benedict was the founding partner of Benedict Audit & Tax Group, a regional accounting firm serving the Maryland and Washington D.C. markets where he directed the assurance and tax practices. Benedict is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

“I’m always looking for better, more effective ways to serve my clients, including staying up to date on accounting, auditing and tax regulations and finding ways to simplify solutions,” Benedict said. “I’m excited to offer a new perspective in my work with the respected team at PKF O’Connor Davies.”

Benedict received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Towson University. He is also in several membership organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), Hospitality and Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) and the Maryland Society of Accountants (MSA). In addition to these leadership activities, Benedict is an active member of several community organizations including the charitable group, Oriole Advocates and serves as the treasurer and as a leader for a local boy scouts’ troop. In 2017, Benedict was awarded the “Big Cheese Award” presented by the Club Tax Network for “taking care of his slice of the Club industry with distinction.”
