The other type are procedures designed to help people attract less of the wrong kind of attention or simply to feel better physically. Even less well known are breast reduction procedures for men with gynecomastia, a condition resulting in unusually large male breasts. In this case, the idea is clearly to attract minimal attention as men with this issue are dealing with a great deal of embarrassment.

Whatever the reasons for a procedure, it's unfortunate that so many people feel called upon to criticize celebrities – and, by implication, non-celebrities – who decided to obtain procedures that help them to feel better about themselves, says Dr. J.
