What sets our office apart from others is a commitment to the going beyond the usual best-practices.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Steven J. Varkony has announced the launch of his new website, The board-certified plastic surgeon says that his site provides general information for prospective patients on numerous plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine options, including the details behind each procedure offered in a user-friendly question-and-answer format. The Southern California plastic surgeon says that the new website aims to be a helpful source to explain his innovative approach to plastic surgery.

“It’s not hard to find a plastic surgeon in the LA area but, with the many choices available, it can be a challenge for patients to figure out which doctor is right for them,” says Dr. Varkony. “What sets our office apart from others is our commitment to going beyond the usual best-practices to find an approach that offers patients an outcome beyond what they might be able to find elsewhere.”

“To ensure a good outcome, and for patients’ safety, it’s important to only consider plastic surgeons who are members of ASPS [American Society of Plastic Surgeons.],” says Dr. Varkony. “That’s only the beginning, though. Patients who really want the best possible results should consider someone who has mastered newer and more effective techniques. One of the primary purposes of the new site is to offer clear information about our innovations, which we think put us at the forefront of the health and beauty field,” Dr. Varkony said.

“We’re especially proud of what we call the Hidden Scar Arm Lift or what is medically termed a transverse brachioplasty,” says the Encino-based surgeon. “In a standard brachioplasty, patients have to be ready to accept a fairly noticeable vertical scar down the center of the inner-arm. In our version of the procedure, we hide the incision horizontally in the armpit so that the scar¬ is all but invisible in most situations. Of course, scarring is an issue in all types of surgery and we pride ourselves on going to additional lengths to make sure that the scars from our procedures are as small and inconspicuous as possible,” says Dr. Varkony.

“Finally, the new website allows us to explain likely outcomes in a way that people thinking about a procedure will be able to easily understand. That includes before-and-after pictures so people can see our past work and consider what might be possible in their cases,” says Dr. Varkony

Dr. Steven J. Varkony is based in Encino, in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. For more information about Dr. Varkony, call (818) 907-9090 or visit his website at
